Our latest and greatest obsession: 5 inch and up. (we are assuming she is referring to glorious footwear...Cute!) She not only shows of amazing styling (great use of mixing prints), she showcases inspiring nature/urban shots. We could graze this beauty for hours.

We know that the Fall 2011 runway shows have come and gone and heck, we are even in 2012, but SUNO's Fall 2011 collection is worth showing. Better late than never, right? The textiles from all over the world are paired and pieced to create the perfect blend of tribal chic. So inspiring!

Vintage Dries Prints to Your Liking

Going back into the archives is all the rage for designers, bringing back their best from the past has never been more popular. When we found out what Design house Dries Van Noten was doing with their past prints, we got uber excited. They are taking it to the next level. To celebrate the opening of their new store in Berlin, they are offering their vintage prints to be handpicked and made into their Daya dress from their F/W 11 collection. The dress was designed to incorporate 5 different prints, all which you can pick to your liking, creating your perfectly mixed print Dries look. Check out more about this here.

Lucky's Pattern Play

While flipping through the pages of the most recent Lucky Magazine, we found this playful, pattern-filled photo shoot that reminded us of the quirky, yet beautiful book, Animal House by Catherine Ledner. A while back we did a fun post on that book in our "What's on Our Coffee Table" feature. Check it out here! Anywhoo, back to the Lucky spread...like animal house, we just love the vintage floral wallpapers as a backdrop to suck bold and modern clothing prints. The drastic contrast between the two is so wonderful we  just had to share!

The Miller House

We felt that this home was so amazing, we we needed to share it's historic and breathtaking past. The J. Irwin Miller house was designed in 1957 by Eero Saarinen and in 2000, made a National Landmark for it's ahead of it's time, modern layout and interior design. This treasured home was inspired by the spacious, clean line look of Japanese architecture and the modernistic views of Mies van der Rohe. There are so many creative elements and details that make this home what it is. What really caught our attention was the blend of colors and textiles that went into the decor of this landmark. "The conversation pit" encompasses the decor throughout the house with it's mix and matching of different textures, colors, and patterns. Alexander Girard was the interior designer, someone we feel like complimented and brought out more of the modern, yet classic clean look that the home was designed to be, (and someone we will be googling to see his other works!) We are so excited that this home is open to the public for tours and up close looks at the touches that make it what it is. Anyone want to come with us to Columbus to view this amazing space?!
