The New Artisans

We found this different-take-on-crafts book through the Crafty Minx. We try to be crafty and complete DIY projects, but a lot of options out there look just that...crafty and done at home. Not the interesting crafty ideas in this book! Just by seeing these pages, we are intrigued and must find a copy!

Renegade Craft Fair

This weekend was the 3rd annual Renegade Craft Fair in San Francisco. We are going to spend this week showcasing our favorite discoveries that we found at the show. There were so many "loves" that we may have to double up!

LA Renegade Craft Fair

We absolutely love when The Renegade Craft Fair comes to our fare city. From our visit back in December, we met a ton of fantastic artists, many of who we were able to interview for our blog. Check them out in our "Interviews of People we Love" section! In July, they came again and then headed off to LA. Here are some items that caught our eye that were featured down in SoCal.

The Edwardian Ball

We took a step back in time this weekend by attending the Edwardian Ball & Faire in San Francisco. Here, the past had an edge, an attitude, and an electric guitar made out of a shovel. With a live show put on by the City Circus, an actual steam powered ride, and a floor filled with crafty vendors, the night was magical. The talented vendors were nice enough to allow us to take photos of there amazing products. There was everything from grandeur handmade hats to leather animal masks that bring out your wild side. New Year, New Month, New Charity

Images found on buildanest.com

We are starting the new year off right with our January's charity choice. We are just in awe of Build a Nest. It is a nonprofit organization providing female artisans with interest free loans. Not only do they make it possible for these incredible women from all over the world to start their own creative businesses, but their website also sells their wonderful products for all of us to own. If you are moved by this incredible organization, go to their site and pick out a hand-crafted item from the loan recipients, a product made by US designer for "artists helping artists", or if you're in a rush, simply click the donate button and make a difference.

Renegade Craft Fair

We had a busy weekend! The Renegade Craft Fair was in town and this time it was holiday specific! We were overjoyed with all the fantastic artists that were there. One of our favorites is Jill Bliss. Her art style is unique and playful and can't help but make us smile. We saw lots of others there as well, including shops that were new to us. Sarah discovered The Harbinger Co. and got this week's Must Have Item, a beautifully crafted honeycomb necklace.
