Pulp Fashion: The Art of Isabelle de Borchgrave

Right now at San Francisco's Legion of Honor, is the unbelievable craft of Isabelle de Borchgrave. The Belgian born artist, is actually a painter by training, but is inspired by manipulating and painting paper into elaborate costumes and designs. Our very own Gail has visited the exhibit. Isabelle's paper creations were truly appreciated when she interpreted the Renaissance era. In the regal portrait paintings from that time, only the top half of the luxurious printed fashions were shown. Borchgrave completes the look and allows you to step back in time and view the unbelievable ornate garments as they were meant to be admired.
